Couldn't find my iPhone charger, had the usb cable but the cube end that plugs in is so small. Dumped my bag out, nothing. Well on Clarity they ask the Yi...

"Where is my Charger?" 8 Bonding to 24 Return
8.1.5
The "Old Yin" line one prevails - "Confidently and sincerely seeking union.
His devotion to you and to truth makes this alliance correct.
Unexpected good fortune."

>24 return
"Thunder regenerates deep within Earth's womb:
Sage rulers recognized that the end of Earth's seasonal cycle was also the starting point of a new year and a time for dormancy.
They closed the passes at the Solstice to enforce a rest from commerce and activity. The ruler himself did not travel.

You have passed this way before but you are not regressing.
This is progress, for the cycle now repeats itself, and this time you are aware that it truly is a cycle. The return of old familiars is welcome."

It's location is something devoted to me. Unexpected. I have passed this way before?

It was stuck in my book bag (devotion to me and truth), which I had searched before (you have passed this way before) , stuck down in a little corner (thunder (electrical energy) deep in the earth's womb). The ruler himself did not travel (it was in my bag all along!)

Amazingly accurate reading, wow. And I found my charger, these little things are expensive!

I find myself looking at line 5 -

'A demonstration of seeking union:
The king uses three beaters,
Lets the game in front go.
The city people are not coerced.
Good fortune.'
- and thinking of opening the bag as wide as possible, turning it upside down and giving it a good whack on all sides to dislodge what's stuck in the corners!
(Not that I would have thought of that without the benefit of hindsight.)

Yesterday, I was having a semi-breakdown. Lot of pressures, a lot of things to do, and some emo-ness, plus Im getting over my period (crank city)

I asked the iching in a moment of crisis:

How do I do today??

57 unchanging!

that made me literally breakdown and I cried for like 10 seconds, composed myself and went on about my business gently.
I finished earlier than expected and with ease. Breezy!

The Yi had been telling me it was a time for being, not doing. Ack. Ok.

When I got home, my toilet got stopped up. Tried some things, nothing worked. Oh well. have to buy a plunger I guess.

Back to the computer, asked if a relationship was over - it seemed so, and everything dark and no communication. I got 12.2.5>64. The 64 - Before Completion, no not over. 12.2 is good fortune for the inferior man, the superior man endures his problems and even becomes successful in the meantime. 12.5 means good fortune for the superior man, the standstill is giving way - and just then I hear a whoosh from the bathroom. I go in there and the blockage in the toilet had all just gone down - by itself. Without me "doing".

Hmmm.

First time I've seen 12 mean 'Blocked' in that sense - but it had to happen, didn't it?

The "standstill" is giving way it said - and just then another type of standstill gave way. Like an omen reinforcing the reading. When I get cross signs like that I figure there is auspicious energy moving in the universe.

Or not. ;)

literal yi

:bows: Happened just now - wrecking my head in, nothing is as supposed to be, just very low...The question was : Give me a deeper insight into what is going on with this relationship so I wold not get dissapointed/worry more?37.5 into 22
Nine in the fifth place means:
As a king he approaches his family.
Fear not.
Good fortune.

A king is the symbol of a fatherly man who is richly endowed in mind. He does nothing to make himself feared; on the contrary, the whole family can trust him, because love governs their intercourse. His character of itself exercises the right influence.

This I was surprised to get, but also felt very literal - as if Yi was repeating back to me : "Do not worry. Everything is as it is supposed to be (for now)."
Not sure if I get the message to the fullest, but it gives me the feeling that it is a "redrawall into the safe place to reccuperate" situation, maybe signifying mending the situation even here?

Just liked the emmediate pat on the shoulder from Yi. :bows:

a beautiful reading.

I asked 'do i understand your answers fully?'

11 2,6 >22

Richmonds lines:

2-
''there are many ways open
treading many paths at each moment
without forgetting himself, he will benefit''

The Yi first i think mentions the number of possibilities available, the many ways to interpret its responses, and beautifully includes the joint participation of my understanding with its responses here, reminding me that it takes both knowing my situation and then using its advice to integrate into an overall whole.

6-
''Do not act on present assumptions, Greater realities
Are unformed, but without them formed realities collapse''

This I think is reminding me that i may tend to assume alot about a reading based on my perception of reality, but Yi seems to suggest that theres more to what you can understand based on what you think to be true.

overall, 11-22 balancing the outer world, heaven and earth interacting to create a picture.

Love it!! :)

First time I've seen 12 mean 'Blocked' in that sense - but it had to happen, didn't it?

Actually, it was more than likely a malfunction of a P-trap, which acts to separate exterior sewage from the interior toilet bowl.

64 could have implied that the U shaped P-trap was not yet filled with water. The earlier flushing may have taken awhile for water to reach and fill up the void (also in a sense 12) in the P-trap, thereby lacking the suction to drain properly until it filled and sealed the void.

56.1 described me

Uh-oh, asked today? Which hexagram describes me the best?
Kinda thought it should be an unchanged one but I was of an opinion it will be an answer of "Which describes my state now, better yet PRESENTLY" kind...
56.1 into 30!
I don`t care for that wonderer much...uncertain future, always a stranger, shallowness of it all...but at least he looks quite young and fetching in that Louis`s IC card :D

But seriously, it made sense, as soon as I red the word "self-sabotage"and Hilary sums it up here http://onlineclarity.co.uk/answers/2005/03/13/56-line-1/ but to me it was an image of a person in search of something to cling to, community, job, a friend to belong to in a good way as fire needs to cling onto something in order to shine..
And knowing my current train of thoughts and feelings, sporting this procrastination to the point of sick, I think IC was yet again very friendly and very much to the point here.
Thanx:bows:

http://www.onlineclarity.co.uk/friends/showthread.php?t=172
this opened a goldmine of self exploration for an over-analyzer but if I follow would I be opposing the message of the line itself?

A Personal Obstruction

I did a reading for a woman in trouble. She had been in a collision in which the other person, a motorcyclist, died in the crash. She has been through a living hell with a criminal trial, a civil suit, lawyers who have failed her, etc...

This and other difficult events caused her to ask," Why am I having this terrible streak of bad luck?" The answer came back 39:6. In each case, she had turned over the responsibility for important things to others, and then let them go with no further involvement on her part.

Her friends kept trying to get her to become involved in her own defense. She needed to become involved with positive thoughts and self-examination in her life, and not turning things over to powerful men who took advantage of her. A mutual friend had brought her to me, concerned that she was suicidal. She needed a path to go forward and found it in this reading.

A humorous (and appropriate) response from yi...

I needed to have a colonoscopy, the preparation of which included an extreme dose of laxatives. The morning of the procedure I did a cast and received 47, which illustrates "water draining out of a lake." A very accurate description of my physical state...

(Afterward: The news was very good.)

Interesting experiences with "relating hexagrams", lately it's been very consistent, especially with Lise's translation. Asking about how someone liked a birthday gift the relating hex was "the gift", "what now?" after a flower offering and relating hex was "Flower power", asking about a proposed music activity it was 16 Enthusiasm which symbolizes music, after someone had decided to be more consistent about their path, overturning bad influences (that I knew weren't me in the reading) I asked "And who am I then?", and the relating hex was "Mountain."

Hmmm. Maybe I gotta lose some weight...

I wanted to enter a photo I had taken in a competition and I couldn't decide between two of my best shots: one of a green leaf (hard to describe better) and the other of moody light falling on to a letterpress machine.

I asked the I ching which of these two photos should I use: 21.5 to 25.

Ah ha! Thank you I Ching!

Hexagram 21 describes perfectly the process of a letterpress machine: two objects come together to "bite" the paper and make an impression. The term bite is actually used in letterpressing to describe the impact as well as the impression made in the paper.

LOL, the IC is so literal sometimes. It's uncanny. Went to the Dr. today to get tested for food allergies. Got a skin scratch test done, in which they basically apply the allergens to a lightly scratched section of skin. If your skin turns all puffy like a bug bite, you are allergic to the food. They did like 24 all in one shot. So, I'm sitting there in the waiting room with my arm all covered in wheat, milk, soy, peanut, and a whole mess of allergens, and I'm 100% sure I'm allergic to most of these foods. Just out of curiosity, I ask the IC, "What will the results of the skin scratch test show?" and I got 25.5>21. Biting through to the truth, no medicine needed. The affliction will pass of it's own accord, as there is nothing intrinsically wrong with me. I came up negative for every food allergen. Apparently I actually am just intolerant to a lot of foods, which basically means I just have crappy digestion, LOL, and according to the doctor, am probably just allergic to the pollen on the food! Easy enough to fix that! He said just peel foods and wash them extra extra well with produce wash. What great news for me! This restrictive diet has been murder.

Waiting for delayed flight in Africa

I was frustrated waiting for my flight and consulted the IC. I received hex 2 unchanging. Although I saw it as positive, and felt that I just needed to persevere in patience, I didn't think much of it until much later when I reached my destination and looked closely at Hex 2.

Favorable to find friends in the west and south,
To forego friends in the east and north.
Quiet perseverance brings good fortune

A glance at the map of Africa confirmed that the itinerary went from north east to south west. I bid farewell to great friends at departure and into the welcoming arms of other great friends at my destination!

Aha! for 29.3 > 48

I have been struggling to understand "what do i really want" in relation to a big issue and having received 29.3 was very perplexed until I looked at it with Bradford's eyes and realised, yes! what I Really want (right now) is to take a break in the climb out of the abyss. I am not able to figure it all out just yet, so pausing is not only what I really want, but what I need.

Desperate of not being able to do what had to been done

When I got hex 15 changing to hex 62
Shortly: I had broken my right food in december 2010 and had to keep laying down for about two month not beeing able to do what HAD to be done.
The two sentences that made me feel the precence of I Ching (the angel behind it) was:
"Nothing that would not further modesty
In movement" (six in the fourth place, Wilhelm/Baynes, I )
- because that was actually my situation humping and crawling to the few destinations I had to reach....
".... Small things may be done; great things should not be done. The flying bird brings the message: It is not well to strive upward, it is well to remain below..... " (from the Judgement, hex 62, same book as above). I felt that this 'angel' told me to realax saying: It's OK, Your chief knows, don't worry IT'S ALL RIGHT. I Ching in the role as the cheering angel ! (The mutual gua of hex 15 is hex 40: Relief, Alfred Huangs tag for this hexagram....)

Love the cheering (edifying) angel image.

I'm encouraged to see another's example of the largeness of the small.

multiple changing lines

My aha exprience today is the discovery of the 'transitional hexagram method' explained by Bradford Hatcher in his translation of the Yi VOL. 1 (page 43 and 44). Recently I had a confusing cast with 4 moving lines (50.2.3.4.6 > 2). The readingprocedure in the transitional hexagrammethod (if I understand it right) is 50>50.2>56>56.3>35>35.4>23>23.6>2. From the Ben Gua (50) to the Zhi Gua (2) with a very interessting detour! The moving lines makes more sense now. Although I know there is a mathematical system underlaying the YI, I was asthonished that I end up the procedure with the Zhi Gua (2).
I have a much better understanding of this cast now en I must say: it's make me happy. This was like a good converstaion with a therapist or counselor. I must say: it is a strange feeling to be relieved after 'talking' with a book. This Transitional hexagram method is so rich and congruent!

If I weren't so lazy I'd use it more often. It sort of reminds me of the wavering dragon, in its appearance from bottom to top, back and forth, one string. Or like sewing them together.

I have been feeling a bit unwell lately and am skirting around some big changes in my life, trying to make sure I don't stray off my true path. Anyway, this morning, I asked Yi to show me a picture of my current situation and I received 16.4.5 > 8

Perfect reading (not least Hexagram 8 for not straying off your own path) - only 16.5 never strikes me as very sympathetic! I hope you feel better soon.

Sometime ago (a couple of months?) i asked for an advice to find love and i got 32.2.4 > 15.
It was a time when i got many a 15...

Last week i asked:
What's going to happen to my love life this year?
32.6 > 50

I had to laugh and thank the Yi.
In my interpretation it says there is something cooking in the cauldron, if just i stay quiet and don't overdo.
Basically, calm down and wait.

And it is progression from the first reading...

It's late in the night where i am and i didn't have with whom to share the shock and horror i feel about the tragedy in Boston ... So i read I Ching and received 7.2 to 2.

I believe it's the first time ever i was happy to read about the ruler who raises the army for a good cause, i believe it refers to US army commander-in-chief (whose fan i am ) being in control of the situation...
Praying for Boston.

I met someone. A mutual friend introduced us and I thought we hit it off. But he never called and so I asked my friend what she knew about the guy and among other things she told me he'd had a couple of long term relationships that had left him determined to stay single. I then consulted the I Ching for clarification and received 30.2.3.4 - 41.

30.2 Clear golden light.

Yeah, there was definitely a nice vibe between us.

30.3 Making the lament of great old age.

Instead of living his life fully after a disappointment he's decided not to play anymore.

30.4 Sudden it comes, burns, dies, is thrown out.

Probably talking about what he did with my phone number.

And then we don't even need to translate what 41. Decrease means...

Ah well, anyway, I thought the reading was a right on description of the situation so at least I can cross 30.2.3.4. - 41 off my bucket list.

Or, maybe he's decided to play, just not to commit to one playmate. Maybe he intends to bang lots of honey pots. (feel free to delete if that's over the top)
