A reading where we already knew the outcome – which really gives us a chance to learn from it! The reading’s about a family argument, and pausing to find a new way to respond, and the advice was Hexagram 5, Waiting, changing at lines 2 and 3 to 3, Sprouting:

Interesting case with a lots of depth in interpretation related to moving lines. Let’s dive-in.
First – Every hexagram in I Ching has alternative names, which can shed additional clarifying light in our interpretations. Let’s consider them also along with regular names.
Second – Hex #5 has two moving lines (#2 and #3), which means that there are two transitional hexagrams in this casting: #63 and #3. In other words Hex #5 first becomes Hex #63 (line #2 changed) which in turn transitions (through line #3 change) to final hexagram #3.
With that said, we have the following unfolded reading here:

Interpretation.
In Step #1: Hex #5. No progress possible at this time – you need to wait. But waiting does not mean giving up or abandoning – it means not advancing. Also, waiting does not mean empty hoping – it means calculated inaction and keeping an inner certainty of reaching the goal. Patiently waiting is a condition of success in this situation.
In Step #2: Hex #63. Transition from confusion to order is complete: everything is in its proper place and in the right order now. Enjoy what you got. But this is not a time to relax: when perfect equilibrium is reached, losing that equilibrium and bringing disorder as a return is a real possibility. For this very reason, no major increases are possible here.
In Step #3: Hex #3. Time of chaos. Time to let helpers and enablers get into your situation. Growth to the new level is always accompanied by difficulties in the beginning and chances to fail. It is important not to remain alone in these difficult times – try to gain assistance in this critical period – seek support for your goals among like-minded people. Plan and execute your next steps well – any premature move may bring disaster. Difficult times will end and evolve to the order if you plan well, stay positive, steadfast and organized.
So, long story short – initial waiting expressed by Hex #5 culminates into order (Hex# 63) but puts us in front of new cycle with new challenges and obstacles and with a lot of new things to learn.
Happy casting !
My apologies – formatting in my posting was completely destroyed, so I have to re-post the middle section to make it readable.

Sadly, WordPress comments are just not a good place to try to format a table! But we can see what you had in mind, so thank you for your efforts 😉 .
I don’t use transitional hexagrams myself – I don’t find them nearly as helpful as staying with the lines cast and looking at the ‘step of change’ or zhi gua for each line in turn. Bradford Hatcher, who was one of the people who invented/discovered the transitional method, said he might use it alongside the reading cast. I think that could be very interesting, though it’s a bit beyond the scope of a 30 minute podcast!
