Synchronicity at the Well

I love those synchronicities that come as pure encouragement, like welcoming signposts saying, ‘Yes, this way.’

I was talking to Eliana, who’s joining with me to create the Opening Space for Change event in a few weeks’ time. I’d just been working on a reading for the podcast about how to open the channel, and Eliana said she’d understood in meditation that she needed to clear blocks to the flow – directing sound into the obstruction, and allowing the vibration to shift it.

Yi’s response to ‘What do we need to know about how to open the channel?’ – Hexagram 59, Dispersing, moving to 42, Blessing.

I noticed we seemed to be swimming in the same river here! But I pretty much fell off my chair when she said she’d be recording the gift of music for participants in an ancient well system.

Now, if I came up with an idea like that, you’d know I was already thinking about Hexagram 48 and how Yi so often describes itself as the Well. Eliana, however, doesn’t know the Yijing (at least, not from the outside) and most certainly doesn’t know about any conversations Jung may have had with it. She simply felt for some reason that a well was the right place to record music to open a space for divination.

So she went to the ruins at Megiddo –

– and went down the steps…

..and down…

to where the spring still flows:

‘Moving the capital city, not moving the Well.
Without loss, without gain.
They come and go, the well wells.’

And she recorded there – music in the healing tradition of the prophetess Miriam, whose name means (among other things), Waters of Strength, to open space for change.
