No Doubt

Found at Luminous Heart:

“Being without doubt has nothing to do with accepting the validity of a philosophy or concept. Absence of doubt comes from trusting in the heart, trusting yourself. Being without doubt means that you connect with yourself, that you experience mind and body being synchronized together. When mind and body are synchronized, then you have no doubt.”

originally from Chogyam Trungpa, from The Sacred Path of the Warrior

I think this is a lovely expression of the essence of Hexagram 61, Inner Truth. The word for ‘truth’, fu, originally shows a hand grasping a child: a firm, unshakeable connection. The meaning of this expands to encompass both sincerity and trust, because both come from this total presence-to-self.

When this awareness of connection, of synchronisation, reaches out beyond mind and body, then you can trust absolutely that it will bring blessings: ‘pigs and fishes, good fortune.’

  1. A.H. Almaas has a similar concept, “Basic Trust” (in Facets of Unity). He says that this is what we need to be trusting enough of the Universe, so as to be able to leave the Ego behind (in order to reach Enlightenment). That act of surrendering to Being is like stepping into an abyss (reminds me of 29.0).

  2. Maybe that’s where 61 moves on into 62. When there is trust, you have to act on it, and make the crossing.

Hexagram 62 is also the trigram Kan doubled, line by line:
